“Should I buy a TV now or wait?”

This is a question that we receive a lot. Like most of the best 2021 tech TVs (coughs, iPhones), TVs are getting progressively better all the time, which means yes, if you wait a year, or even a few months, there’s probably a bigger TV. and eye-catching for less money.

But while you do this you will undoubtedly get a bigger screen for a better price, some of the best panels are already made today. While the displays of tomorrow may be a bit bigger, a bit brighter, and a bit cheaper, today’s displays are just as competent in their own right.

We can say that with confidence knowing that most manufacturers have finally embraced the three most important standards in TVs: Ultra HD, Wide Color Gamut, and HDR (HDR10 and Dolby Vision). If a TV you’re watching doesn’t support at least one of these, you should probably look elsewhere.

BEST TVS OF 2021

You’re not sure where to start? Well here I leave you the best televisions of 2021..

1. Samsung Q70T QLED TV (2020)

The new Samsung Q70T QLED TV packs much of the arsenal of features found on Samsung’s pricier 4K QLED displays , but it’s not as punishingly priced, making it a great buy for people who can’t spend. a couple thousand way reasonable on the Samsung Q95T 8K flagship TV .

The reason it doesn’t score higher on our list is that it’s an edge-lit TV and doesn’t produce the same contrast as comparable full-range models, especially in light-controlled rooms like US home theaters. low level.

Still, Samsung’s Q70T is an excellent 4K TV anyway. Ideal for viewing bright rooms, it offers excellent detail and color performance, has a comprehensive connected platform, and has excellent image interpolation.

For gamers, the Q70T is a formidable proposition. Not only delaying the image is low, with and without processing, but there is an HDMI 4K of 120 fps waiting for their next game console. It’s also confusing when it comes to black level performance and screen smoothness… as long as you keep the lights on.

7. Samsung Q950TS QLED TV (2021)

Samsung’s New 8K Flagship Delivers Next-Gen Performance… For One Price

The Samsung Q950TS represents the manufacturer’s latest 8K TV, combining all the benefits of last year’s Samsung Q900 8K display with the innovations first introduced by the 2019 flagship Samsung Q90 4K TV that hit stores earlier this year. year.

Paired into a top-notch QLED TV, the new Samsung Q950 offers an 8K panel and AI-enhanced image processing, plus wider viewing angles, an improved black filter, and standard-setting HDR performance . As if all that wasn’t enough, Samsung’s smart TV platform is the most complete on the market.

So if you’re looking for a new next-gen Samsung TV, and you don’t mind paying a high price for it, the Q950TS should be at the top of your short list.

⛔ CONS

1. Not compatible with Dolby Vision.
2. Limited 8K content

8. Philips Ambilight 55OLED854 / 12

The Philips OLED854 is a solid OLED TV that rivals the best TVs of 2021 . It has a very nice design, with great features like Ambilight to create skewed light while watching TV in a dark room.

It’s not as accurate out of the box as some of the best displays from LG and Panasonic, but once calibrated it looks incredibly similar and offers exactly the same performance for most content. Occasionally a black lock occurs with some content and the HDR image can look a bit dark compared to its peers due to the more aggressive ABL limiter and a greater drop in the tone map for the most accurate picture modes to standards .

However, Philips provides the end user with a mountain of image processing settings where they can set HDR brighter and add frame interpolation and edge enhancements, but doing so prevents them from being precise and seeing content as intended.

That said, Philips processing is better than most on the market and at least as a user you have a choice. The 854 can be very accurate in terms of image quality in the correct settings.

Overall, the Philips OLED854 is identical to the OLED804, apart from the stand used, and offers excellent image quality and good features. You are in a very competitive market with displays from LG, Panasonic and Sony offering very similar features and slightly different picture performance with HDR content. The Philips 854 offers the same performance attributes as its peers and comes recommended.

9. Samsung Q80T QLED TV (2021)

Vibrant HDR makes it a killer mid-range model for gamers and moviegoers

The Samsung Q80T QLED builds on the successes of previous models for a brilliant HDR TV that is definitely worth checking out.

The most notable feature is the incredibly low input lag, which makes the Q80T a great choice for gamers who want responsive gaming, but the QLED display will also make overall viewing a pleasure.

The Q80T is the cheapest 2021 Samsung TV that comes with a full-array backlight (in our guide, below, we explain the different LED technologies), which means you’ll get consistent brightness, though not some of the premium qualities. of the high-end teams, so it lands lower on this list than last year’s Q90 . QLED . It’s not as sleek as the zero-bezel Q950TS either , with a thick body compared to other QLEDs in this year’s range.

However, you will still get Samsung’s latest Quantum 4K processor , vivid HDR colors, and advanced smart TV features through the Tizen operating system.

If you want more savings as well, the Q70R QLED is this TV’s predecessor and will cost you a good few hundred dollars less than the new Q80T model (yes, it is the line of some products, and yes, the name is confusing).

✅ PROS

1 . Full array backlight.
2. 4K quantum image processor.
3. High peak brightness.

⛔ CONS

1 . Without Dolby Vision.
2. Not the prettiest QLED.

10. LG E8 OLED Series 55 ″ and 65 ″

A small processor that does a great job OLED

Having potentially increased the hardware capabilities of its current OLED display technology, the LG TV turned its attention to the software that controls these displays, and this shift in focus has yielded surprisingly impressive results, improving and even eliminating many of the residual niggles associated with earlier on 2017 models. And it’s still one of the best TVs of 2021.

The OLED65E8 loses a bit of ground acoustically to its predecessor, and this year there is stiff competition from Samsung’s new Q9FN LCD TV , but all the legions of OLED fans who will need to hear is that the OLED65E8 is the one. best OLED TV LG has ever made.

✅ PROS

1 . Impressive image quality.
2. Nice design of the device.
3. Excellent operating system.

⛔ CONS

1 . Some noise in the image.
2. Lack of brightness in front of LCD.

11. LG C8 OLED Series

Among the best TVs of 2021 is still the LG C8 OLED, available in 55 and 65 inches. It combines an impressive picture, a rich set of features, an attractive design and its unrivaled intelligent platform, to offer one of the best televisions we have seen to date. It’s not as bright as an LCD TV, but those deep blacks make a big difference to the dynamic range of the picture. It is also capable of vibrant and beautiful colors, not to mention stunning detail with native 4K content.

There are other OLEDs worth considering this year (see: Sony’s A1E and A8F OLED models or LG’s E8 and W8 OLED models), but we believe that the C7 OLED offers the best price-performance ratio of any TV under the sunshine this year.

✅ PROS

1 . Image quality on overhang.
2. Well-defined built-in features.
3. Highly effective intelligent platform.

⛔ CONS

1 . Maximum brightness for HDR, somewhat limited.
2. It does not have HDR10.

12. Samsung QLED TV 8K 2021 75Q800T | Smart TV 75 ″

The Samsung QN75Q800T 8K Ultra HD LED LCD TV offers excellent performance for picture quality and to some extent sound. Although Samsung is making the price for 8K adoption more affordable, it is likely still out of reach even for the higher end of the mainstream market. However, for those with the resources to afford it, Samsung’s commitment to advancing the resolution threshold is to be commended. We agree with those who say that the increase in the cost of marginally visible grayscale enhancement is only slightly high.

But this is not all you get with 8K. Samsung is placing its best image and sound processing systems in the 8K model classes, and the higher pixel density 8K provides is visible as very accurate color reproduction, 100% color volume, and overall HDR performance, most notably in fine shadow details. We can’t help but remember that some of the same arguments used against 8K were now used at the beginning of 4K UHD and even Full HD 1080p. Ready or not, 8K will eventually be the future direction of the market.

From personal experience, today I can tell the difference between the picture quality of an old 1080p TV in my room and a 4K UHD TV on the benchmark. Over time, I hope to be able to make a similar distinction with 8K displays as content producers learn to use native content in the storytelling process and camera and production systems evolve. With that said, is the Q800T the right series for someone in the market for an 8K set today? – That’s a call to the buyer.

My guess is that anyone in this part of the market will have the budget to go higher and therefore I think most of these people will be impressed enough by the Infinity Screen design on the Q950TS and Q900T series to go with them. Is the Q800T worth it over the top-end 4K Ultra HD Q90T QLED TV ? I must say that only on the largest screen sizes: 75 inches minimum. We don’t make price judgments in our reviews, so we let that decision be up to you. But based on picture and sound performance alone, we give the Q800T series a Spartan Recommended Buy.

✅ PROS

1 . 8K images look huge and spectacular.
2. Outstanding resolution.
3. Very accurate color reproduction.
4. Rich in fine shadow details.

⛔ CONS

1 . It is not cheap at all .

13. Sony KD-65XF9005 (XF90 Series)

Okay, you don’t want (or can’t afford) Sony’s new A9F OLED or the fantastic but expensive Z9F . So what should you buy? Take a look at the XF90 series  . With superb 4K image clarity, powerful SDR to HDR remastering, and smooth direct LED backlight, Sony is offering something very different with the XF90  . We loved the consistency of its images, the spectacularism of its wide range of color panels, and its easy-to-see HDR – you get spectral reflections without the accompanying eye strain.

Given the high but fair price of this set, any issues we have are negligible. The XF90 comes highly recommended and deserves our Recommended award. It certainly earned a spot on our list of the best TVs of 2021.

✅ PROS

1 . Stunning realism with 4k hdr processor x1 Extreme.
2. Incredible contrast with X-tended Dynamic Range Pro.
3. Smoothness and clarity in fast-action scenes
with x-motion clarity.
4. Voice search thanks to Android tv.

14. Hisense UHD 55AE7000F – Smart TV – 4K RECOMMENDED !!!

The most economical !!!

The Hisense UHD TV 55AE7000F television features 4K resolution picture quality. Thanks to Wide Color Gamut and Dolby Vision HDR technologies, it displays vivid colors and lots of detail and through Hisense UHD Upscaler algorithms, the TV updates the 2K signal to achieve 4K quality.

Every part of the image is sharp and clear, even on a 75 ”screen. 4K UPSCALER: Upgrades 2K quality to 4K image quality.

On the other hand, Hisense UHD TV is capable of decoding and playing videos compressed by H.265. STREAMING IN 4K: Enjoy 4K content from applications such as Netflix or YouTube.

With Dolby Vision / HDR 10+ technology, Hisense UHD TVs are capable of decoding and playing games and videos in HDR. Enjoy your favorite content with the highest image quality.

Then we have precision color mapping technology, with which Hisense UHD TVs analyze the color of the signal with 36 degrees of hue, 10 of brightness, 5 of saturation, offering the colors in the most realistic way of which it is capable.

MEMC (Motion Estimation and Compensation) technology is applied to analyze the motion curve and makes motion smoother. In addition, it integrates the algorithm for improving the clarity of the moving image to ensure the sharpness of the moving subject in each frame.

In short, Hisense UHD TVs integrate noise reduction technology, which automatically analyzes the signal and eliminates the noises detected in it, to offer sharper images, providing a better visual experience. In addition, the dbx-tv function in offers deep, rich and fascinating audio on the television without the need for external speakers or sound bars, something that quite surprised us.

As you can see, it is a television that for what it costs offers a lot, especially if in addition to everything mentioned here we add the DTS Studio Sound that considerably improves the audio with a 2-speaker stereo system that offers an expanded sensation of space and atmosphere. Or self-optimizing scene recognition that recognize the genre of content being watched (fast action, concerts, news, movies, etc.) and automatically adjust the picture and sound for a better experience.

It had to be on our list of the best TVs of 2021.

15. Samsung Q95T (2021)

The Samsung Q95T has a sleek and elegant design in the familiar Samsung style. It has only a thin frame around the screen, where the image almost completely reaches the edges. For it to be a direct LED TV, it is also relatively thin in depth – a bit thicker than thinner OLED displays, but nothing to disturb. The center-mounted stand makes the TV easy to position, while there’s plenty of room for a soundboard.

As mentioned, the Q95T is the top model among Samsung’s 4K displays this year, meaning ‘it ‘s Samsung’s flagship ‘ and will take over after last year’s Q90R , which also named the best TV of the year in the high-end class in 2019. As the last model of the year, it is a high-end LCD TV with QLED color filter and direct LED backlight. The Samsung Q95T also has Samsung’s wide angle filter that will improve the viewing angle. It also has a special surface treatment (Ultra Black Filter) that reduces glare from the surroundings.

At one point, the Samsung Q95T takes a step back from the Q90R: the direct LED taillight has to cope with fewer dimming zones than last year’s model. The most advanced taillight with the most individual zones is now reserved for 8K models. Here it may seem that Samsung has pulled the “savings knife” a bit compared to last year’s model. At the same time, the Koreans claim that they have achieved improvements in power management and image processing, which can help level the difference.

One feature we want to highlight is the Ultra Black filter, which absorbs / filters a large amount of stray light from the environment. This is a feature that you only get on Q90T / Q95T and later, which has a BIG impact on the visual result.

Samsung Q95T comes with novelties in terms of sound, more specifically the object tracking sound. In addition to the usual bottom mount speakers, there are some additional speakers at the top of the back, which will help create a larger sound image.

The Samsung screen provides relatively good sound on its own: here we get remarkable clarity in the voices, as well as a nice fullness in the bass. The additional speakers also help the sound to be more airy and spread better. But of course there is no substitute for a separate soundboard!

If you want to get the most out of the sound, you should of course add an Atmos soundboard, which can transmit the TV’s audio signal in high quality through the HDMI eARC connector.

Samsung has also added a small advantage to those who buy a new 2021 model soundboard from them : you can then use the new Q Symphony feature, which uses the TV’s own speakers in combination with the soundboard (sound bar). We became familiar with this feature during testing of the Q80T and found that it provided a significantly enlarged sound image.

Q95T is one of the best TVs of 2021.
Here you get slightly better image quality and more clever solutions than the other QLED models, at a slightly higher price. Samsung’s display is equipped with direct LED taillights that contribute to excellent contrast. The black level isn’t as impressive as competing OLED displays, something many will notice especially in a dark room. On the other hand, the Q95T has an advantage in brighter environments: there is always a lot of brightness here and there are no problems with reflections.

2. Somewhat poor SDR details.
3. Basic audio performance.

BEST TVS OF 2021 COMPLETE GUIDE:

What television technology is better? What is the best LCD TV? What screen size is best for your living room? What is the difference between LCD and LED TVs? The answers are not always obvious. In fact, buying a new TV can be stressful even for techies, as there are so many brands, so many features, so many screen sizes, colors, technologies, and flavors to choose from. So which of the best TVs of 2021 is right for you, your family, and your living space? In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to buy a new TV.

What types of televisions are there?

When choosing between the best televisions of 2021 we must bear in mind that there are many different types of screens. All working in different ways to produce the same results. Each technology has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, so here are some basics to consider:

LED TV: direct LED

These displays are backlit by a series of LEDs (light-emitting diodes) directly behind the display. This allows for localized dimming, which means that the immediately adjacent areas of light and dark can be displayed more effectively, and it greatly improves contrast. LED TVs are also more energy efficient and can offer a wider color gamut than CCFL TVs. Due to the extreme cost of mounting these LED sets, cheaper TVs often use Edge-Lit LED displays over Direct or Full-Array LED displays.

LED TV: Edge LED

With these TVs, the LEDs for the backlight are mounted along the edges of the panel. This arrangement allows for radically thin displays and offers higher contrast levels than CCFL, but cannot achieve the same image quality as directly lit LED arrays. However, they are much cheaper, which is why most LED TVs now use this technology.

OLED TV

The backlighting of OLEDs (organic light-emitting diodes) is achieved by passing an electrical current through an emissive electroluminescent film. This technique produces much better colors and higher contrast and also allows the displays to be extremely thin and flexible. This is the screen technology of the holy grail of the best TVs of 2021 LG, Sony, Philips and Panasonic have adopted it in their flagships.

Quantum dot

Quantum Dot is Samsung’s big game in the LED TV space. With it, the brand claims that it can produce more colorful images than LG and Sony while offering even brighter panels. All of LG’s Super UHD TVs use a variation of Quantum Dot called the Nano Cell, and Hisense makes several Quantum Dot TVs for the United States and China.

Curved tv

Some of the makers of these best 2021 TVs still make TVs that have slightly curved screens. But unlike old CRT TVs, the curve is inward rather than outward. The idea is that this makes each pixel equidistant from your eyes, providing a more satisfying image. However, there are drawbacks to this type of screen, the main one being that if you sit far enough to the side (more than 40 degrees approximately) the curve clearly begins to affect the geometry of the image, shortening the content near you and compressing the center of the image.

What resolution technology should I choose?

HD

HD televisions come in two resolutions. HD ready computers are required to be able to display a minimum 720p image, and generally have a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Meanwhile, Full HD TVs have a higher resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is highly recommended that you do not go for anything less than Full HD in this day and age.

Ultra HD and 4K

The resolution of Ultra HD is exactly four times that of Full HD – 3840 x 2160. It means a much more detailed picture, with content that requires much more bandwidth and storage space. 4K TVs tend to be good at upscaling HD video to Ultra HD, but there are currently very few options for viewing native 4K content. Read more about 4K resolution.

8K

If 4K isn’t enough to impress you, there are now a fair number of 8K TVs entering the market. This ultra ultra high definition format contains four times the number of pixels as 4K, for even sharper and sharper images.

The difficulty is that there is little 8K content available, nothing on Netflix, for example! That means these teams require highly advanced processing to create high-end 4K or high-definition content for 8K displays, and while this is not yet a must-have technology, it is certainly where the television market is headed. Read more about 8K resolution.

HDR

Arguably switching to HDR video could make a more dramatic difference to your viewing experience than going from HD to 4K. Like HDR stills, the mobile version expands the range of the light and dark ends of the spectrum, providing more detail for both.

However, HDR needs new filming methods; at the moment, there is no way to fill HDR in existing video. It also needs new TV technology, with Samsung being the only ones to create dedicated displays, although LG and Sony will be able to upgrade some of their existing stock to be compatible.

What else should I consider?

Choosing one of the best TVs of 2021 is a significant investment that you cannot afford to take lightly. Simply going to the nearest store and grabbing the first plasma or LCD you see won’t give you the best deal, the screen that suits your needs, or the equipment you need to get the most out of your new purchase.

The size of the TV matters.

People tend to choose the size of their flat screen TV based on how much space they have, this is not necessarily a good idea. Flatbed TVs take up a lot less space than you might think, so your new TV may end up a foot or two further from your viewing position, making the picture appear smaller.

Plus, with HD, you can have a larger screen and the same viewing distance without worrying about inherent flaws in the source. The lack of noise from a 4K TV means that the ideal sitting distance from the screen is three to four times the height of the TV. Let’s see the available sizes:

Table of measurements by inches of televisions

The optimal distance . To watch a TV depends a lot on the size and the resolution. We will not see the television at the same distance if we have a 45 ″ screen with 1080p resolution than one with 4K resolution.

In the following table you can check the measurements of the TV based on its inches and the area it occupies. In this way, you will be able to choose from our list of the best televisions of 2021 your television with a better criterion the inches that will best suit your living room.

Appropriate distance to watch a TV

In this table we intend to inform you of the recommended distances based on inches and resolution of a television. That if you keep in mind that the more resolution a television has, the closer we can be to it. Be careful not to stick completely either.

Remember that there is no perfect television and you must assess many other things, such as economically (which is going to cost you), the dimensions of your living room…. and above all, what are you going to use it for. There is nothing like watching TV for yourself and judging whether or not you like the image it provides. OLED TVs have the best picture quality available, but they are more expensive, so the next best option is LCD TVs.

When it comes to local dimming, LED LCD televisions often outperform those without. On the other hand, the ability to produce a deep black color – higher contrast – is the most important ingredient in getting a good image.

As for color saturation, saying that it is directly influenced by contrast / black level is the second most important point. In a bright room, matte screens are better overall at reducing reflections. The best bright displays also preserve black levels.

Less important factors include resolution, video processing (120Hz, 240Hz, etc.), maximum light output, and screen resolution (4K vs 1080p).
Fine tune your TV picture to have the best possible quality.

How many HDMI jacks do I need?

For a living room TV, you should look for a minimum of 3 HDMI inputs. If you want to connect a cable box, as well as game consoles, etc., those HDMI ports will fill up quickly.

Do I want to hang my TV on the wall?

You will first need to consult a construction expert to verify that the wall in question is strong enough to support a flat screen. Next, find out if the set you want is designed to be wall mounted, and if so, ask if the corresponding bracket is included in the basic package or as an optional extra. You don’t want to hang one of the best televisions of 2021 and watch it fall, drowning our desire to have an exceptional TV hanging on our wall.

Will I connect it to a home theater?

If the answer is no, you may want to think more carefully about the audio performance of your computer. Look for a screen that can sound as loud as you need without distortion or rattle in the cabinet. Think about how the dialogue sounds and how much the bass thumps.

On the contrary, there is no point in paying more money for exceptional integrated speakers if you already have a decent home theater system.

And with this we end our comparison of the best televisions of 2021 . I hope you liked it. I also thank you for getting here. And as I always say, your opinion is the most important thing so you can leave your impressions below these lines. We are waiting for you as always in the next comparison.

Thank You.
